Eureka!, Mark Taylor - Big Band
Commissioned by the Tennessee All-State Jazz Band, this exciting and well-crafted composition features a light and breezy samba style and some marvelous ensemble writing. A duet for alto and trumpet is featured on the head, as well as later in the chart for solos. Along the way are creatively designed background figures and a “shout” section that features the drums followed by a solid tutti ensemble statement.
