Lazy Day, Mintzer - Big Band
Standard jazz ensemble
As recorded by the Bob Mintzer Big Band on Incredible Journey, this gospel ballad is a full-length solo feature for tenor sax. It starts with a rubato intro in 4/4 before switching to 6/4, and goes out with a dramatic, repeated band shout that alternates fortissimo and subito-piano figures to build intensity and excitement in the closing moments. Duration 11:40.
